This is the energy of the day, and how to embrace and make the most of it.

Buck the system if needs be, but its time to step out of the crowd and be authentic. We aren’t sheep, to be herded and told what to do and how to think. We can think for ourselves. Discover where you are going along, when really you want to say ‘no’. Say ‘no’. Be you, the world needs you, just as you are.

Authenticity is rather an over-used word. It is beginning to lack any weight. But it means ‘genuineness’, the quality of being real. Take a few long, slow, deep breathes. Relax your shoulders away from your ears. Imagine what it would be like to be completely genuine. Hold that feeling in your heart today.

A day to explore and discover what motivates us. Where are you hiding your true feelings? Your honest opinions. Are you feeling swamped by going with the flow. Or are you feeling disconnected? Rather like the Emperor’s New Clothes…wondering why people can’t see what’s under their noses.

Pull out your journal and explore your feelings, thoughts and emotions. Be prepared to discover who the true self is, under the mantel of fitting in.

Know that others are doing this work too, and you are not alone. It’s time to be brave and step forward. Find others who are prepared to not follow the status quo. If you haven’t joined yet, I have a lovely Facebook Group, Light In the Valley. Join us to be with kindred spirits on the path.

And to discover our true natures, we need to begin with self-care and nurturing. Eat nourishing foods. Drink clean water. Listen to the messages and whispers of your heart before acting or speaking. You know what’s right for you, so do it.

Sipping peppermint tea this morning, to settle an upset tummy. Too much rich food has rattled my system. Today’s a day for eating light and nurturing myself. Join me. Peppermint is a plant of abundance, growing strong. You can cut it back and it grows back stronger. Symbolic, don’t you think?
