Independence and Personal Identity are Questioned
We are reminded of the importance of keeping our independence and identity of self in relationships. Tarot & Tea, Two of Water Reversed

This is the energy of the day, and how to embrace and make the most of it.
Be true to you. Don’t get caught in other people’s dramas and keep clear about who you are.
Do you ever long to be so immersed in a love affair that you lose yourself? (50 Shades stories come to mind…yikes!) That love affair may be a person, or it could be your work, a hobby or a passion. I believe we all have some of that yearning to be caught up in something bigger than ourselves.
But when it comes along, getting lost can easily tip into co-dependence, when we work hard for approval that can never be. Or it falls into loss of identity, as we become smaller. Less of who we really are. And the worst of all, loss of independence. That sense of being unable to cope alone.
Co-dependence vs Independence!
Two of Water Reversed comes with a message reminding us to review our intentions. It’s time to take a step back and cut unhealthy ties and bonds.
So, let’s try this meditation. Find a quiet place to just be alone, and take some deep breaths to calm and relax yourself. Imagine ribbons from you floating out into the Universe. These are the ribbons or cords of attachment. Now, see them swirl and break and fall from you.
(Don’t worry, all ties made in love will return straight away. But the icky stuff will be gone, at least for a while.)
In addition, when this seems complete, say a little prayer of thanks and gratitude. A healing has occurred. Drink a glass of water, throw back your shoulders and move on with the day. Be in love, joy and gratitude.
And while we’re looking at this, be careful of getting sucked into other people’s dramas. There’s two sides to every story.
Be aware and stay balanced.
Of course, a lovely tea needs to enjoyed with this clearing energies. Hmmm…a tea that speaks to independence. Well, my Bramble Cottage tea, of course! Blackberries, roses, hints of sweet vanilla with black tea and cornflowers. Pretty and tasty. A perfect match today’s energies with its balance of calming and uplifting notes.
Most of all, this is definitely a day to pay attention to where we lose our power, and then our independence. You don’t have to go it alone, Dear Heart, but we do have to pay attention and not get lost.
