Embodying the energy of the Earth Mother, our Tarot & Tea card today is Queen of Earth.
This is the energy of the day, and how to embrace and make the most of it.
Nurturing, kindness and support come to us and surround us. Open up to the possibilities.
A good day to nest. Spend some time loving-up your home. Whether you own or rent, have a tiny room or a palatial mansion. Or any of the options in between, today we are encouraged to spend some time caring for it.
Our home is our castle, so they say. Maybe, but it is the place that reflects how we treat ourselves. Yes, how we care for where we eat, sleep, relax and spend time with loved ones, is a reflection of how we care for us.
Start by making your bed. A old feng shui trick to starting the day right. Our subconscious mind feels calmer knowing that we come back to a nice, comfy tidy bed at the end of the day. Clean up your dishes as you go. Keeping the kitchen clean is said to increase our ability to receive. (Here’s a link to some more info and useful tips to help you clear your clutter and open to abundance.)
If you’re looking at chaos, take one thing at a time. A great place to start is making sure your bedside table is clean and tidy. And it’s not too big a project to tackle. Set a goal of one thing a day. Last year I decided to throw out one thing everyday. And I did! It became a little game that I played with me. And it was fun.
Caring for our homes is where we begin to care for ourselves. Having a beautiful environment to relax in, to come home to, sets us up for joy and happiness. This is where the kindness of Queen of Earth shows up for us.
Kindness.
Starts with self, and then flows into the world.
My daily kindness is my morning tea ritual. Boiling the water, warming the teapot, choosing the tea. Waiting for the steep (one of the more difficult parts of the ritual, but a lesson in patience to start each day.) And finally, pouring, sipping and contemplating the day ahead. Ahh…so Bramble Cottage in my cup today. After a few days rest and repair from dental surgery, today I’m gently and kindly heading back to work. A beautiful tea for a beautiful day. Works for me!
Nesting and nurturing. What are you choosing to undertake? Me? Tackling my bookshelves. I gave away a whole box of books last week. And still, I’ve more to go through. An on-going task. Oh well, that’s what life’s all about. If we get things finished, what would we do with ourselves.
Be kind to you. Let kindness be your word of the day.

Thank you Jacqueline for inspiring me. I can visually picture you doing the tea ritual like a proper British and in a Zen Japanese way. Soothing for the soul. Aloha.

It’s my pleasure Jocelyne.
I like that…a mixture of Buddhist Zen and the proper British way…sums me up nicely. Cup of tea in hand, cheers!
