Hero Reversed Holds Up the Mirror

March 29, 2017 By Jacqueline Leave a Comment

Be merciful and kind to yourself and forgive yourself. Let go of the past. Show compassion from the heart to you. Tarot & Tea, XII of Fire, The Hero Reversed.

This is the energy of the day, and how to embrace and make the most of it.

Check your self-blame at the door. The Hero Reversed comes to hold the mirror up for us. Look in. What do you see? Do you see your mistakes, your errors and regrets? Until we can truly look at ourselves with the eyes of a lover, with absolute compassion for every part of ourselves, we will continue to never feel good enough.

Is it true altruism that has us doing good, or is it a need to Band-Aid a wounded ego by receiving praise and appreciation? We could argue ‘whatever’ and acknowledge that if a greater good comes from it, what does it matter what motivates us. But the higher part of us. that spirit within, knows that when we act from a wounded place we’ll continue to hurt.

Accept that we’ve all made mistakes. Accept, even if you’ve hurt someone innocent. Acknowledge and get honest with yourself. Acceptance is the first step in all healing and in making changes.

Today we are challenged to be The Hero in our own life.

How can we show ourselves unconditional compassion and love? Start by choosing to accept. The way things are is the way things are, I accept that and I set myself free.

Then spend some time journaling or meditating on all the things we have done right. All the joyful moments. Pull out that gratitude journal. (You did start one didn’t you?) And write down all you appreciate about you. For example, instead of seeing chubby, flabby arms, you might choose to see strong arms. Arms that can hold a child safely, carry the groceries, lift a wounded person up. Get the picture?

Sipping my Bramble Cottage tea this morning. A later start than usual, as I fell back to sleep. I could beat myself up, or I could acknowledge that I’ve been rather busy and my body decided it needed some extra rest. So, I won’t rush my tea to catch-up. I’m enjoying a cup, looking out the window. Seeing the rain has filled the birdbaths and washed away the last of the snow. Showing compassion and acceptance.

What will you do to be The Hero in your life today?
