You know I am all for this…the rat study made me sad.. eating their own tails… horrifying but it’s true with rats and with humans. Everyone knows the well-used metaphor “put your own oxygen mask on first” from the airlines…so even if you want to give and give.. you can’t help anyone if you’re gasping for air… Great video! xox Lisa/IntuitiveBody

Wow yes, I’m pretty sure I end up eating my own tail!
I need to stop running around after everybody else, and take some proper ME time more often!

The poor little rat image really does hit home doesn’t it Helen? Be good to you…take a break…tea is good!

Love this post! Some of my favorites are a bath, reading time, trying a new recipe just for me, vegging out with TV…and yes…setting your cell phone on silent makes a HUGE difference! Sometimes I’ll also ban myself from email inbox, otherwise I catch myself answering work emails while I’m trying to relax with my favorite show. No bueno! 😉

PS: I think I told you this before but has anyone ever told you that you remind them of River Song? (From Dr. Who?) ‘Cause…you totally make me think of her!

Oh my goodness. Thank you. A few years back Alex Kingston the actress who plays River Song was on ER. I dated a guy who thought I was very much like her. Thank you Michelle…I’m very flattered. 😉

Woohoo! I love all these…and I’m very familiar with self-banning the email box…lol! Thank you for sharing.

So adorable! My husband just left to take a bubble bath – too funny!!! When I need a break I usually grab a nice cup of hot tea (my favorite is called “Easy Now”) and relax outside in the sun or in my favorite recliner. I set the timer, close my eyes and slip into “me.” Quite lovely.

Sounds heavenly Julie…I’m feeling all relaxed just thinking about it! And my hubby takes bubble baths too!

Reading is one of favorite me time things and I know I’ve been neglecting that for a while. Loving these videos Jaqueline!

When I find I haven’t been taking time to read Christie, I do it first thing when I get up. I take my book and a nice cuppa tea to the sofa and set the timer for 1/2 hour. Fabulous start to the day…definite Me Time!

    Love the video Jaqueline!
My favorite me time thing is reading a good book or laying on the couch with my kitties laying on me and basking in the sun shine streaming in.

    • JFairbrass on November 3, 2012 at 7:48 am

      That sounds heavenly!

So true!! I find the constant interruption to be one of the hardest things about having little ones. Sometimes I’ve even said “Just let me finish one thing before you ask for another!” We just got a new kid-friendly timer, so I’m going to try your 10-minute trick – and if it goes well, shoot for 15 next week!

Awesome…keep me posted on your progress. xox
