This is the energy of the day, and how to embrace and make the most of it.
Burn, baby, burn! Release the dross and that which no longer serves you. Rise from the ashes like the beautiful Phoenix you really are. And do it your way.
Queen of Fire symbolizes living our best life. The abundance of a life lived on our own terms. So definitely a day to explore what brings you joy. What makes your heart sing. What lifts your spirits and makes you feel invincible.
Then go ahead and do some of that!
Our senses are a true gift. Celebrate all of them today. Listen carefully. Slow down and really taste your food, and of course, your tea. Feel your clothes against your skin, the seat under you. Pause to enjoy the scents and aromas.
Each morning when I take my dog out I stop for a moment to breathe deeply. Living in the country, the air is crisp. I can smell the trees and the damp. But wherever you are, take a deep breath and notice the aromas.
Nothing evokes memories as clearly as aroma. When I lived in Ottawa, Ontario, the winter was so cold, and it seemed like scents disappeared. Getting off the plane in Vancouver, BC, and walking out the airport, the city smells of cedar. Yes, the timber being driven down the river actually scents the city. And of course, getting off a plane in Palm Springs, CA knocked for a loop, as the scent of Neroli (orange blossoms) fills the air.
These are the moments Queen of Fire wants us to burn into our memories! So, we can pull them out and uplift our spirits anytime.
And while we are celebrating our lives with her, let’s make a pact to clear out that which no longer lifts our spirits. For me, it’s head to the closet and get rid of some clothes. As we change and our energy changes, the clothes, colors and shapes no longer makes us feel the same. Don’t settle. If you don’t feel absolutely fabulous, pass it along to someone who will feel absolutely fabulous in it.
Make this a metaphor for life. Do what makes your heart sing. What’s fun. Hang out with people who lift your spirits. It’s time to move on and live out loud.

I’ve a delightful rose petal black tea in my cup this morning. I love roses. The way they look, the colors, the aroma and the taste. It’s subtle. Not like Lavender, which can be quite soapy, but always a delicate floral taste. (Unless you try making iced tea with rose water…ugh, that ended in the bathtub! It was a project when I was teaching aromatherapy once…it turns out all you need is a teaspoon of rosewater in a pitcher of tea…it’s really quite strong.) Anyhoos, back to my tea, and it’s delish.
