What’s making your Body Happy?

September 28, 2012 By Jacqueline 18 Comments

You are not what you eat. You are what your body uses!

Do you know someone or know of someone who ate right, drank their water, exercised regularly? And dropped dead early in life?

Yes, we all do. Either we know them personally or we heard about them.

So, what’s the answer?

Drink a bottle of vodka a day, smoke a pack of cigarettes, eat nothing but junk food? While all the time lying on the sofa, watching rubbish on the telly (TV for my US readers!) and you’ll live to a ripe old age.

body happy NOPE

No, of course not!

You don’t need a Wellness Coach to help you reach that decision. That’s deffo not Body Happy!

But, I’m sure I hear you say, ‘what is the way to live a healthy life?’

Don’t Worry, Choose Happy Radiant Health

and start Feeling Absolutely Fabulous!

Choose Happy to begin your journey to Radiant Health.

You can ingest nutrients until you are blue in the face, but if your body can’t do anything with them, then there is just no point. For your body to function in a healthy way you need to feel good. You need to feel happy. The better you feel about yourself, the healthier you will be.

When we feel good about ourselves we are drawn to a more balanced, harmonious, happy and ultimately healthy lifestyle.

There are loads of studies that actually prove this. The body produces a whole bunch of different chemicals called hormones. The ones that make us feel better actually create a climate for healthy choices. Seriously.

You will want to eat the foods that nourish your body. How do you know they are nourishing your body? They make you feel good! Yep, good food in and good feelings come out.

Feel good and you wanna keep feeling good! Get it?

And a few Choose Happy Tips for you:

Cut down on the sugar. Cut out the processed foods. Drink lotsa water (and of course, drink your tea!)

My rule of thumb ~ if your thumb doesn’t fit over the ingredients list then don’t eat it!

And…if you can’t pronounce an ingredient ~ don’t eat it!

What could be more simple than eating well?

And remember, your body is unique. Don’t look for cookie-cutter ways to be healthy. Don’t Worry ~ Choose Happy ~ Body Happy + Radiant Health.

And do use the comments below to tell me about what works for you. How do you Body Happy? Sharing is caring!

What great tips you have here! Love the one about placing the thumb over the ingredients. I will definitely begin to use this one, and hopefully I will begin to feel happy as I do this.. 🙂 Thanks for such great information.

I love how it’s a self-reinforcing cycle. As we make better food choices, we start to feel better, which leads to even better choices, etc. I know I can tell when I’ve made a “not so great” food choice; I don’t feel as well the next day. I love this idea of not worrying so much about exactly what to eat, but just following a few simple tips. They can make such a difference.

Yeah, we gotta keep it simple. With so much overwhelm in everyday life, simplicity is important.

Ah yeah the ingredients thing! I always ALWAYS read the ingredients list when I buy something, especially for the sugar addict that I am I just don’t want any kind of sugar in my body. And the thing that sounds über simple but sometimes overlooked : when you’re full, stop eating! Listen to your body 🙂

So true…when you are full stop eating. Don’t know when you are full? Get into yoga so that you can get back in touch with your body!

I am a big fan of not consuming ingredients that I cannot pronounce too and I take it one step forward-I don’t use them on my body if I cannot pronounce them!

I love your rule of thumb + the idea that our bodies process foods differently when we’re happy. I honestly hadn’t thought about it that way Jacqueline!

What an interesting rule of thumb – so simple & definitely sharing this on FB!! I agree choosing happy is the first step to living a fabulous life…everything else will fall into place once you begin walking down that path.

Perfect timing! I just had a pretty lively online debate about how people doing things “wrong” can live to 100 and those doing everything “right” keel over early — remarkably, it never occurred to me that happiness is a factor! Thanks for the reminder. (And I like your “rule of thumb”!)

I love your “rule of thumb!” Honestly, I think everyone needs to start listening to their body more. It tells you exactly what it needs. For its survival and its happiness. I think that is one of the reasons I despise diets so much. xo

Couldn’t agree more… doesn’t matter what you eat if the energy you are eating it with isn’t happy and balanced…love the rule of thumb.. clever.
